UMC offers the most economical method for in-place pipeline cleaning
and maintenance using progressive pigging. Pipeline pigs are
devices that are inserted into and travel throughout the length of a
pipeline driven by a product flow. Pigs were originally developed to
remove deposits which could obstruct or retard flow through a
pipeline.
Advantages
of the UMC method:
 |
It
is non-destructive to the inner pipe wall. |
 |
Long sections
are cleaned (up to several thousand feet) in
one operation. |
 |
There
is minimum downtime for on-line customers. |
 |
It
is effective in all piping materials, cast and ductile
iron, plastic asbestos cement, concrete, cement mortar and epoxy lined. |
 |
Reductions, tight radius bends, and pipe size changes
can be negotiated. |
